I am an Individual, Couple, and Family Therapist who provides confidential and
professional counselling in a bright and accessible private practice setting.
My formal training includes a Masters of Science degree from the University of
Guelph. My professional training is ongoing which continues to enrich my
counselling relationships and allows me to remain passionate in my role as a
facilitator of change. I can use this passion in many ways including assisting
couples in considering how their differences can be used to create improved
communication styles, altering existing patterns that maintain conflict and
relationship distancing, and establish more loving and fulfilling partnerships.
Viewed as the “relationships specialists” Couple and Family Therapists are
trained to enhance client’s unique strengths and to assist individuals as they
work through personal, family, and work related problems. As a Registered
Clinical member of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy I
have pledged a commitment to strict ethical guidelines which assures a client
focused, counseling experience.
My professional training and personal experiences over the past 15 years allows
me to offer a non-judgmental environment, a professional viewpoint,
compassionate and sensitive insight, and therapeutic skills which support
growth and change. Over the past 7 years I have worked in an agency setting
addressing issues that involve child-parent and couple relationship
difficulties, child/adolescent challenges, family struggles, depression,
trauma, stress, anxiety, violence, anger, and loss.
My ongoing commitment to supporting and facilitating client’s mental, physical,
emotional, and spiritual growth and goals allows me to provide a unique
counselling experience. As a therapist I believe it is my responsibility to
join with the client’s view in ways that respect their uniqueness and diverse
values, beliefs and cultural positions. In this way it can be possible to,
together, make the connections between what is not working and what strategies
and tools will best support the changes that have been identified.
